Another hate diatribe sent to me by the father of someone I've worked with. Why he continues to send me this garbage is beyond me. He's like one of those people who forwards jokes to his 10,000 "friends".
So he is all bent out of shape because the US Postal Service has a new Muslim holiday stamp. All it says is greetings and something in Arabic.
Big deal and who cares. He then goes off on all of the terror that some crazy Muslims have done. OK, now let's list all of the things that nutty people have done in the name of Christianity. Well, there's too many to list and it serves no purpose to list them other than to spread hatred.
So I guess his inner Christian moral compass would tell him that all Muslims are out to get us and that they should all be killed. Maybe we could put the Muslims and the gays on an island, let the Muslims kill as many gays as they can for a month then nuke the remaining infidels on the island. Then finally we get rid of the Muslims and the gays. Oooops I forgot about the money grubbing Jews, and the abortion Drs. and the Democrats. We're going to need a big island. Where is a good man like Hitler when you need him?
PS At the end of his message, he infers that if you don't agree with his message then you're not patriotic. Just like if you don't agree with Bush you're a communist.
Below is his message.
CHRISTMAS STAMP
How ironic is this??!! They don't even believe in Christ and they're getting their own Christmas (excuse me..."Greetings") stamp, but don't dream of posting the ten commandments on federal property?
USPS New Stamp
This one is impossible to believe. Scroll down for the text.
If there is only one thing you forward today.....let it
be this!

I'm Feeling Very Bloated
I seem to be having alot of gas troubles.
With these morons at Atlanta Gas and Light Company.
So, yesterday I thought since I talked to an english speaker here in Atlanta that my 4th appointment to change the meter was a done deal.
I needed to change the time so I call them today.
What appointment she says? That one has been cancelled.
How in the world could it have been cancelled?
Unbelievable.
So now I have another appointment. And it is for 8 hours. 8-4. Can you believe that?
Allegedly, they will call me before they come out.
This is their last chance. No show up and I ain't gonna call them no more.

Indian Gas
This guy shows up at the house unnaounced and starts banging on the side of the house.
I go outside to see what's going on. The gas meter doesn't work anymore he says. Call this number to schedule a meter replacement. Someone has to be home because they have to check your gas appliances before they leave.
Appointment 1: no show
Appointment 2: no show
Appointment 3: no show
During this entire time, I'm talking to people in India. How rediculous is that? The Altanta Gas and Light Company doesn't have anyone you can talk to who speaks English. The Indians think they speak English but they don't. And the males in India, (this comes from a reliable Indian source) have a don't disrepect me and I'm never wrong attitude.
So one of the 15 Indians I talked to yesterday starts with what is your address. So I say my address very slowly and clearly. Usually I spell the street. But this time I don't because I want to see what he'll do. He keeps going on and I say, what street to I live on? He tells me Canterbury Lane. Not even close. There might might be 3 letters right. So I ask him, how is this going to work if you don't even know where I live and why didn't you ask me to spell it? No reponse. He like the rest were useless.
And they always repeat what you say. "What I hear you asking is this". I've never had an American speaker ask me that. Why? Because they speak English.
So finally I get tranferred to Jeena in Atlanta who was of course horrified because she knows that the Indians suck.
Why didn't they come this time? Because the Indian coded the service call wrong and they didn't have time. So Monday is their last chance. The meter doesn't work but I still get gas and I don't pay for it. You would think that they would want to fix it. Right?
You know what else?
How do old people, Mexicans, people with hearing problems, people that have 9-5 Monday -Friday jobs deal with these morons? How do they do it? No I don't have time to sit hear the entire day on the chance that you might keep your appointment. I work for a living. And no, I can't understand you.
I think I'm going to complain to the public service commission. I'm sure that my complaint will be handled by "Joe" in India.

Spanish Required
I was looking around the internet and found three job openings for social workers.
Each job required that you be fluent in Spanish.
Isn't that weird?
I get it. But, in the USA for a job in the USA, you have to be fluent in Spanish.
That seems very strange to me.
It seems logical that if you were applying for a job with a firm that either was going to place you in a Spanish speaking country or primarily work with clients from those countries, you should speak Spanish. Same as if you were getting a job to work in China, you should speak Chinese.
But to get a job here? Speak Spanish?
Somethings gone haywire.
So, if that's where we are, then lets give our citizens the tools to work in that environment. All school children should be taught Spanish from Kindergarten on. Period. Until they are fluent. If you were really serious, every kid would be taught first grade in Spanish only.....no English allowed during first grade, then after a year the kids would be totally fluent. They've done studies...it works and the child actually scores better on all tests after a year. The key is to find a teacher that either can't speak English or won't cheat during the year and speak English.
Now to state the obvious.
If you're going to come and live in our Country....probably illegally, then you need to learn English! No more press two for Espanol....You want you electricity turned on Jose? Speak English.
But of course we're never going to do that.
No wonder Iraq is a mess.

Michael J. Fox vs Rush Limbaugh
Michael J. Fox has done three commercials for political candidates this month. He supports candidates that are in favor of stem cell research. They are all democrats. In the commercials, Michael is shaking wildly.
Rush Limbaugh said that Fox intentionally stopped taking his medicine so that he would have those huge tremors on TV.
Please.
1. Why does anyone still listen to Limbaugh?
2. Limbaugh is the guy who was busted for buying Oxycontin on the street and his loss of hearing is probably a direct result of that.
3. Limbaugh is the guy who said that all illegal drug users should be in prison for a long time. That of course was before he was busted.
Fox was just on the CBS news talking about this incident with Limbaugh. He is shaking like you wouldn't believe. It's really sad. He said that he would love to be able to control his shaking; even if it was to shake more! Just some level of control. But he can't.
Limbaugh is truly a.....well I don't want to use that word here.

Back Off!
To all of you who want to hold the administration accountable for the Iraq fiasco and especially Donald Rumsfeld.....he has a message for you.
Rumsfeld tells war critics to 'back off'
AP - 1 hour, 4 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said Thursday that critics should "just back off" on demands for deadlines in Iraq and that it is difficult to predict when Iraqis will resume control of their country. At a Pentagon news conference, Rumsfeld said benchmarks for security, political and economic progress that U.S. and Iraqi officials have been discussing are valuable because "you are in effect establishing priorities."

Iraq
Bush just had a news conference and said nothing new. Other than not answering most questions.
First a sideline. Why does the President fly around the country campaigning for people with a war on? I know I've said it before but I just don't get it.
General Thurmond in Iraq said that the problem over there is that we want it more than the Iraqis do. That is certainly true. We want it to be a lovely democracy with a Wal-Mart on every corner and our ally in the war on terror.
They want to be a Muslim state who stands with their Muslim brothers. And oh by the way, they'd also like to keep the 2000 year old sectarian fight going on within the country if you don't mind.
The Iraqis don't want what we want. Just like if they came over here, we wouldn't want what they want. We don't want prayers 5 times a day and women in birkas.
OK, now to the marines.
There are a few marines who are speaking out against the war in interviews on TV. These guys are on active duty.
They have very big you know whats.
While they are not technically violating the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) they are taking a big risk.
The UCMJ says that they cannot talk bad about the President, one of their leaders or someone in office. I think. And they can't make any statements in uniform. They didn't do any of those things. And also there is something that would be different if they were officers. I'm not sure what but it is something different.
As a former military officer I had enough common sense to know not to do something like that. I think that they had been egged on by someone in the media and maybe given assurances that if anything came of it that a high ranking democrat would nuke the military for taking any action.
That's the way it seems to me.

Looney Tunes
Some nut who has me on their mailing list forwarded this garbage to me.
They are after Wal-Mart for supporting Gay something or other. I really didn't understand it.
Who cares whether or not Wal-Mart supports Tinky Winky, the gays or whomever.
Wal-Mart sucks for a lot of reasons. And one of them is not their support of gays.
Almost everything in Wal-Mart is made in China.
Below is a quote from their email.
Wal-Mart also announced they would give preference to homosexual-owned businesses
in purchasing products.
Unless they can find gay owned factories in China, Viet Nam, Cambodia, etc. I somehow doubt that this will happen.
Wal-Mart pollutes the environment with their huge box stores, some of which are empty and spend enormous amounts of fuel to ship the garbage from China.
They pay low wages and no benefits.
Please.
Why don't the Christian loons get upset about Donald Trump and his TV show the apprentice that worships money? Or the Donald's lifestyle. Wife number three. Kids from three women. Grotesque excess living. Donald Trump is the poster child for anti-christian behavior.
I don't see many people being convinced by gays to turn gay. But I sure see alot of people who think the Donald is great and his lifestyle is something to be emulated.
That's who the fringe Christians should be ranting about.
I am a Christian. So I'm not anti-Christian.
This stuff makes me ill.
What about John Hagee? Very conservative Christians love him. He is also about 500 lbs. What does the Bible say about gluttony. Hello?
The Bible says that in the last days there will be many false prophets. I think that's where I would be spending my time and energy exposing them. Not continually bashing the gays.
What has this organization done to help gays from their "wicked" lifestyle. I wonder what would happen at one of these churches if a gay person came in and publically said that he needed help to become ungay? He would be ostracized.
Churches are supposed to be emergency rooms for hurting people who need God and support. Not elite country clubs where hate comes flying out the door.

Wal-Mart Rolls Out Red Carpet For Homosexual Marriage
Dear Pam,
When Wal-Mart announced their support for the homosexual agenda a few
weeks ago, they meant what they said. You will remember that Wal-Mart
asked for, and received, permission to join the National Gay and
Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). The company announced they were
giving two large grants to NGLCC. The world's largest retailer was
rewarded with a position on the board of NGLCC. Wal-Mart also
announced they would give preference to homosexual-owned businesses
in
purchasing products.
Justin Nelson, president of NGLCC, said he expects Wal-Mart to use
its
influence to pressure suppliers like P&G, Johnson & Johnson, and
Gillette to give homosexual businesses preferential treatment. Wal-
Mart
is also working on a plan to provide domestic-partnership benefits
to
homsexual employee "partners." The NGLCC is a leading promoter of
homosexual marriage.
A quick search for books sold by Wal-Mart found the following
related to the promotion of homosexual marriage:
- What God Has Joined Together: The Christian Case for Gay Marriage
- Gay Marriage: Why It Is Good for Gay, Good for Straights, and Good
for America
- Legalizing Gay Marriage
- Why You Should Give a -amn about Gay Marriage
- Civil Wars: A Battle for Gay Marriage
- Gay Marriage and Democracy: Equality for All
- Defending Same-Sex Marriage
- Why Marriage Matters: America, Equality, and Gay People's Right to
Marry
- Gay Marriage, Real Life: Ten Stories of Love and Family
A quick search of Wal-Mart's website turned up the following number
of
items for sale:
Gay - 1148
Lesbian - 468
Transgender - 40
Bisexual - 38
Gay Marriage - 26

87 American Soldiers Dead
That is the number so far for October.
And today, one soldier was kidnapped in Iraq and missing.
Can you imagine what is happening to him now?
I can.
What is the plan?
What are we doing to stop this mess?
Why is Rumsfeld still around?

What is the matter with Atlanta drivers?
Some in Atlanta drive really fast and weave in and out of traffic.
Lets say you're on I-75 in Atlanta and the speed limit is 55. Most people are doing 70-75. Then there are those who are going 90+ and flying around traffic like a slalom course. It is so dangerous.
Or people that will come flying up behind you and then drive 2 inches from your bumper.
This is the best. They are such poor drivers and don't look more than 2 feet in front of their car....here's what they do.
They are tailgating you and there isn't anywhere to go. Traffic in front of you. So they'll fly into the right lane next to you but fail to see the Clampetts in their truck doing 20 mph a few feet ahead. Ooops, that didn't work.
So what is it with these people?
1. Why do they drive this way?
2. Do they have no fear of the police.
3. Do they not value their own well being?
4. Where did they learn to drive this way?
5. AND why have the authorities, Atlanta PD, Georgia State Troopers, County Sheriffs, abdicated their responsibility and allowed this ridiculous carnage to continue on Atlanta highways? People are killed every day. I've never seen anything like it.
It reminds me of NYC before Giuliani took over. It was a cess pool. Crime was rampant. Trash and drug dealers ruled Times Square. I would have bet one million dollars that one man could never have fixed that mess. But he did. So why doesn't Atlanta get with the program and enforce the laws.
Something is very wrong with the culture of Atlanta, GA.

Intransigent Co-Pilots
Yes they are Co-Pilots and not first officers.
And it's a cockpit and not a flight station.
It seems like Co-Pilots have changed.
It's not because I'm getting older either.
When I got hired at the Big D, the Captain was king. And sometimes really weird.
Then we came up with CRM, Crew Resource Management which means instead of the Captain being a totally flaming you know what, he would give the illusion that he cared about your opinion. In one CRM class when I was a new hire, the instruftor asked if anyone had had any recent problems with CRM. This ancient Captain raised his hand and said he had had no CRM problems since he made Captain. Right on dude.
OK. So this new breed of Co-Pilot is different.
Part of it is that the big D has evicerated the Captain and part is that the industry sucks so bad and we've taken so many hits financially and otherwise that some people just don't care.
A good Co-Pilot is there to assist the Captain and to adjust to his way of doing things. Not the other way around. Some guys don't get it. They constantly try to run the show or they are just a general pain in the neck. They put they're bags everywhere and just don't have any respect of common courtesty for the postion of Captain.
Part of it is probably me.
The old guys would have eaten the bad Co-Pilots for lunch. Ripped them from limb to limb. A good old fashioned ass chewing.
But we don't do that anymore. Not to mention, I have to sit 2 feet away from this guy or girl for 4 days. So some things are worth fighting over and some ain't. I just let it slide. Let it build up and then I explode. That's healthy isn't it?
I would say 70% of the guys are good Co-Pilots and the other 30% are a real pain

Bush and the Worthless Congress
Finally it seems Americans have woken up from their delusional condition and noticed that our country is being very poorly led.
64% of Americans think that the country is going in the wrong direction and an equal numer think Bush is doing a bad job.
You think?
Iraq is such a mess. Bob Woodward's book says that when people brief Bush they don't tell him the truth or the bad news and he doesn't ask any probing questions to find out what's going on. Lala land is just fine with him.
I think that both of Bush's daughters should serve in Iraq in a dangerous war zone until it's over. They should drive a truck around Bagdad. Let's see how long we stay then. And so should every member of Congress who voted to have us go over there. Their family members should be there too.
And what about the rest of the problems in our country.
What ever happened to Al Gore's Social Security lockbox? I thought SS was a crisis.
I guess not. What about the border security and illegals? Off the radar screen.
What about our energy mess? I guess that since gas prices have dropped there is no energy problem.
And North Korea. This is amazing. In Newsweek they quote Bush as saying the following aboout North Korea's leader. At a private dinner party, Bush called Kim a "hateful pygmy who behaved like a spoiled child at a dinner table".
Now that's constuctive.

Trash
I went to a McDonald's today.
The meal must have cost about 10 trees to package.
My sandwich was in a cardboard box.
My fries were in a cardboard box.
The bag it was in (and I was eating it there) was huge.
The cup the drink was in was plastic and will biodegrade 1500 years from now.
Wow. So much waste of our planet's resources and then we have to bury all of the paper and cardboard that we use.

John Mark Karr and Larry King
I'm all for freedom of the press.
But....Larry King had John Mark Karr on the other night. He is the pedophile/2nd grade school teacher who confessed to killing Jon Benet Ramsey.
He didn't do it.
There is something disgusting about giving him any attention at all. Actually he is disgusting. He is a truly talented liar and manipulator. And did I mention a pedophile?
I guess Larry King would interview anybody. And I'm sure it got good ratings.
But it was just disappointing to see him on there.
And he got 2 consecutive days of Larry King coverage.
Of course they did paint him as a total loon and a dangerous loon at that. So maybe there was some good that came out of it.

Airline TV Propoganda
There was a program on CNBC last night about a week in the life of American Airlines.
That sounds interesting. But it's hosted by Peter Greenberg who is a travel reporter for NBC and he hates the airlines. So I was somewhat suspect of what the report was going to be.
I've only watched the first 12 minutes so far on TIVO and I'm already outraged.
Here's what Peter Greenberg, the airline parasite, said.
"All of the airlines problems can be found in this one tube (referring to the American 767 they were filming on). Crushing labor costs......."
What? It only took him 12 minutes to bash the hard working, dedicated employees of American and every other airline.
What is he smoking? What is his agenda? Where is this nut coming from?
I would like to ask Mr. Greenberg, and I use Mr. loosely, what he would consider a fair wage. Minimum wage? $7/hour? What? What would be non-crushing?
It's constant. It never stops. Like a faucet that drips. Labor is evil. Workers are crushing us. Woe is me. Those workers are giving it to us again.
I am sick of it.
Airlines have lots of problems not the least of which is management incompetance and government taxes and buffoonery.
Labor ain't one of em. And if they ever were they're not anymore. Not after we've lost our pensions and taken 50% paycuts.
Give me a break!

I had Lunch with Alan Jackson
I was having lunch at a restaurant the other day.
After ordering I went to the restroom.
As I came out this homeless man came in and almost knocked me down. The nerve of him.
He was tall. Hadn't shaved. He had a moustache. Ripped jeans and a plaid work shirt. Dirty baseball hat pulled down. Obviously homeless.
So I go back to my booth. The homeless man is sitting right behind me in the next booth and we're back to back.
Then there's all this whispering and pointing. It seems that my homeless friend was the country star worth about a gazillion dollars, Alan Jackson.
Sorry Al.

John Hagee and Iraq
John Hagee is a televangelist.
I was watching him on TV the other day and he was stating the Bush pablum that if we don't fight the terrorists over there then we would have to fight them over here.
Then in the next breath he said, there are over 100 sleeper cells of terrorists right here in America.
What?
I thought the terrorists were over there? Not here?
Which is it?

IRAQ
Here's the stats:
We are spending 1 Billion dollars in Iraq every 3.5 days.
4 soldiers are dying every day in Iraq.
43 civilians are being killed each day.
The reserves are being sent over for tour after tour. That's not what the reserves are for. What a hardship. What a mess.
They've turned over portions of Iraq to the Iraqi security forces only to have civil war and anarchy.
All for what?

Prescription Costs and Gas Prices
I just had two presecriptions filled for.........$100. Yippeeeee.
It used to be $50 but the insurance company decided to put them on the non-preferrerd list whatever that means and charge double. My pay goes down by 1/2 and my drug prices go up 2X. That makes sense.
Now, gas prices.
They're falling like a rock. Isn't that just a little curious?
The election is coming up.....the Republicans are in heapum big trouble and gas prices are down down down.
How does the Bush do it?
It's not like the world situation is much different.
I'm glad they're down. Good for the airlines for a change. Of course they also went down right after the airlines got done hosing all of their employees.
Sounds sinister so me.
Better make sure I wear my hat at work.

More Hat Drama
I've posted on the Delta Pilot hat drama currently going on.
Some pilots are not wearing their hat as kind of a protest against all that's been done to us.
So the Vice-President of Flight Operations, a Delta pilot himself, sent out the infamous hat letter.
Below is an excerpt from the letter.
Also, we have a union web board that we can post messages on and discuss things. A fellow pilot eloquently summed up his thoughts on the pilot letter and it is posted after the VPs hat letter.
Taking pride in the proper wear of the uniform sets the example and reinforces your credibility as a leader.
Our appearance reflects the level of professionalism we execute once we are in the cockpit.
The Delta hat is the most visible identifying feature of our uniform, and its proper wear is mandatory anytime in public view, unless we are doing a preflight, are in the immediate vicinity of the gatehouse or on the aircraft.
It’s also mandatory to wear Delta-approved wings and a name tag.
Finally, it is the Captain’s responsibility to ensure that the flight deck crew is in compliance with our appearance standards, as outlined in the FOM. Generally, Delta pilots look so sharp by comparison to our competition that it is easy to spot us from a distance. We need to make sure we stay that way by upholding the high standard we have set for ourselves.
Here's the pilot's post.
200 messages about hats!
Well, let's make it 201.
Here's my take:
You’ve seen the movie: The platoon drags in from battle bloodied and tired. Some lost limbs, some lost lives. The Colonel from HQ comes strolling down in his spotless uniform and chastises a grunt leaning against a tree trunk, "Soldier! You're uniform is a disgrace!"
The weary Platoon Sergeant, rather than standing up for his men, joins in. "Stand up when the Colonel is talking to you!"
Delta pilots have endured (in terms of dollars/capita) one of the largest financial losses of any labor group in the history of labor groups (short, of course, of loss of the job, and many have done even that). They may be the single largest contributor to Delta's survival. While they have coped with losing thousands of dollars every month and the loss of their pension for the rest of their lives, many have been forced to move, withdraw kids from good schools, some have lost their wives and families. (At UAL it’s reported that there have been a few pilot suicides.) Delta pilots continue to suffer the ire of fellow employees told that ossified pilots threatened their jobs. At the same time, pilots are flying more, they are having to compensate for fewer mechanics and reductions in overall operational support, and they endure more and more TSA and FAA scrutiny. Through it all they have maintained high operational standards, reducing fuel usage, reducing flap overspeeds, passing checkrides, showing up ready for training, etc. According to management, operational standards are as good now as they have ever been.
Unfortunately, it seems like Management hasn’t recognized all of this and has decided, incorrectly, that the hatless trend is a Discipline problem rather than a Morale problem.
Hats only came off after the double dose of life changing concessions, and doing without the cap was just a harmless way of blowing off some steam even as Delta flight crews continue to give 100% of their flight deck professionalism on a 50% cut to their pay and benefits.
Unlike uniform shirts, slacks, shoes, and jackets, hats have a symbolic rather than a practical function. When Delta pilots were perceived and treated as the cream-of-the-crop, they wore their hats with pride. It symbolized honor and dignity, not control and subservience. The hat once was helium that buoyed pilots up, now its lead on the head. Delta pilots wore their hats because they wanted to, not because they had to.
Like the old saw, "All leaves will be cancelled until morale improves", I think this new emphasis on wearing hats will only serve to widen the chasm between pilots and management, and could maybe even result in less operational efficiency. Specifically addressing the visible, but operationally insignificant, issue of hat-wearing will polarize both pilots and management as the game of cat-and-mouse between hatless pilots and Hat-Enforcement-Officials overemphasizes the unimportant and distracts from the bigger picture of operating an airline. I suspect a pilot chastised for not wearing a hat is much less inclined to care whether the APU is running a few minutes too long, or whether to bother checking to see if climbing to a higher flight level will save a few pounds of gas.
And in the meantime, ALPA, like the platoon sergeant, remains silent. They aren’t saying, “My guys have suffered a lot lately and will continue to suffer for years to come. We’re doing our jobs as proficiently as ever, but we just need a breather. Why don’t you just back off a bit, huh?”
Delta hired the best pilots the industry had to offer. Seasoned veterans with thousands of hours, discipline is ingrained in our systems. But we’ve all taken a huge hit that will have a lasting impact on our families for the rest of our lives, and morale is in the toilet. Even if Delta becomes prosperous, it’s highly unlikely that its’ pilots, especially the senior ones, will ever recover what they lost to save this company. I think we just need a breather.

FAA Physical
It's time for my FAA physical.
As a Airline Transport Pilot Captain I have to get one every 6 months. There are only a few Drs who are qualified by the FAA to perform such a crucial exam. Yea right.
OK. The guy I used to go to before I moved was way better. This guy is OK but he is old and makes comments.
Like last time.
First of all, my pulse and blood pressure go up in a Drs. office. It always has and always will.
Sometimes my blood pressure is OK the first time and other times I have to lie down and chill. Go to Hawaii in my brain. Then it's usually OK.
So this last time he says, Oh your pulse is elevated. That tells me that you need to do aerobic workouts. Do you do aerobic workouts he says? No, I lift weights and I hate to go on the bike or whatever. Well you should, he says.
Blah blah blah.
I wanted to say, look here Francis, sign the form and leave out all of the editorial comments.
I'm sure he'll be just as verbose this time.
It's already making my blood pressure go up.

Mark Foley
I haven't even commented on him because it's so absurd.
I would like to talk to him and find out why he thought that he could really get away with having those kinds of conversations and relationships with 16 year old boys and nobody would find out.
What really bugs me is that congressman on capitol hill knew all about this and did nothing. Give me a break if you think that they didn't.
He is a pervert. Simple.
Another thing that is absurd is that anytime anything happens, people jump all around screaming for ridiculous fixes.
Right after this happened people were clamoring to dissolve the program altogether.
What?
We always over react. Just like the plane that crashed into Manhattan the other day with the baseball player on it. Now they have enacted some restrictions on flying over the river in a small plane. Why? This hasn't happened in 100 years of aviation. What an overreaction.

North Korea
North Korea of course is a huge mess.
Like most of the rest of the world.
I don't blame the North Koreans for getting a nuke. Why not?
They're a sovereign country. No doubt that their leader is a nut and is heaping misery on their people but I can sure see why they would want a nuke.
The USA doesn't mess with people who have them. If I were the leader of N Korea and I saw what W did to Iraq and what he isn't doing to Iran...I get me a nuke too...right quick.
So what are we supposed to do.
Sanctions are such a joke. They only hurt the real people of N Korea.
I have no idea what to do except to talk to them. They're not giving up the nuke. No way. It's their security ticket.
Not a good time to be W right now.
Like most of the rest of the world.

G. Gordon Liddy and Global Warming
I like the G Man. He has an interesting radio show.
If you don't know, he was one of President Richard Nixon's hatchet men from Watergate fame.
He spent several years in prison.
One of the funniest things I've ever heard him say is this.
A caller asked him how many and what kind of guns he owns. He is a big gun nut.
He said zero of course. Because as a convicted felon it is illegal for him to own a gun. However, he said, Mrs. Liddy is heavily armed.
Anyway, the G Man is very conservative and he thinks global warming is a crock. Total nonsense.
I disagree.
But even if you think global warming is bogus, here's what doesn't make any sense to me.
You have to admit that cars, factories etc. emit pollution.
Here is the definition of pollution.
the introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment
So if that is the definition of pollution and we can all agree that cars, factories do this....then why, even if we think global warming is nonsense, would we want to pollute?
That doesn't compute with me.
Unless your reason for saying global warming is bogus is because you are in cahoots with the businesses that pollute and don't want to pay the price to clean up your act.
G Gordon is much smarter than that.

Delta Airlines Pilots Hats and Earings
We have a new VP for Flight Operations. He is a Delta pilot.
His welcome letter to us told us to wear our hats.
Delta is one of the few airlines left where the pilots still wear hats.
Some Delta pilots are demonstrating their displeasure with a 50% pay cut, loss of retirement etc by not wearing their hat. I personally think that not wearing your hat in protest is incredibly stupid. No one in management cares. Except the hat police. They're not sitting up there in the ivory tower wringing their hands saying, "oh my goodness, the pilots aren't wearing their hats, lets give them a big raise".
It's really juvenile to not wear your hat. About the only uniform violation that I am guilty of is wearing my uniform coat correctly.
It is a black wool double breasted coat. We have to wear the coat from November 1-February 28.
March 1st is a National Holiday. CLD. Coat Liberation Day.
I hate that coat. Because if the terminal isn't freezing I overheat in it. And I feel like a pig in a blanket. So most of the time my double breasted coat is not buttoned. Oooops. Look out for the button police.
Alright. Now to item two.
All other Delta employees can wear earrings on the job....except pilots.
Some pilots are doing it anyway. I haven't seen anybody yet but I guess they're out there. I don't want to get a hole in any part of my body and I certainly don't want to wear an earring. I'm not a pirate but a pilot.
But Delta has a big mess here and they're trying to figure it out. I don't think that you can tell everybody but pilots they can wear an earring. Maybe you can. We're the only ones that have to wear a hat.
Oh the troubles at Delta.
His welcome letter to us told us to wear our hats.
