It really makes me sick everytime I see on TV the reports of one of our brave soldiers being killed in Iraq.
There is a growing opinion in the House and Senate to pull out.
I don't think we should have been there in the first place. And if we should have gone there, we really messed up the staying part. Colin Powell told W, if you break it, you've bought it. Well W broke it. And guess what? We're stuck with it.
Pulling out now is not a good idea. I don't know what the solution is but just as W thought that it would be a cake walk after the war, who knows what would happen if we just left.
It needs to be stopped somehow. But how? Beats me. I just don't think that leaving totally, all at once, is a good idea.

Prescription Drugs and Spending
Where did the prescription drug bill come from and why did W sign it?
It costs a fortune and it actually helps people, I think.
Although, there is a big uproar about how seniors can't figure out how to use it.
I didn't think that Republicans were the ones for big gov'ment spending and for universal healthcare. Why is it that seniors get free drugs and the poor who are not seniors don't.
What about me? I work for a large non-profit airline. I want some free drugs too.
Our deficit is out of sight. George has taken record surpluses from Bill and taken us right back to financial ruin.
I wonder if any of his cronies are drug company big shots and will profit from the seniors drug plan. No, that couldn't be true.

Murder Suicide
That is how Delta mis-management recently described Delta pilots.
It was in their filings with the bankruptcy court and widely reported in the media and USA Today.
Delta said that if the pilots don't capitulate and be good little boys and girls and strike....then that would be like committing murder suicide.
Are the words murder suicide ones that you want to be associated with the two guys in the front of the airplane in charge of your safety and ultimately your life?
How could anybody in management be that irresponsible and stupid?

Delta Pilots and the pay cut
The Delta pilots 1 year ago took a 32.5% pay cut. That, along with other contract reductions, resulted in a 1 billion dollar per year savings to Delta.
Now the company wants us to take another 19.5% pay cut.
They said in one of their propaganda recordings that the company cannot continue to fund our losses with borrowed money.
I agree.
They also said that fuel cost is the primary reason for our losses. Not our moronic management.
So, I have a question.
If fuel prices were to again double, would the pilots be asked to work for free?
When does it stop?
Why are pilots supposed to pay for higher fuel prices?
If the gas station owner pays more for his gas does he reduce his employees pay? No, he raises prices.
The assault on the worker must stop. And it has a limit. Like I said, if costs keep going up and the only help is screwing the workers, that has a finite limit.
What a bunch of morons.

Marie Callender's food is really good.
The stuff you can buy at the grocery store, like Marie's pot pies are very tasty.
I love advertising. I think it's amazing how deceptive they can be.
Marie Callender's ad for their frozen foods included a pot pie.
Very wholesome it said. They forgot to mention it has enough salt to preserve you for about a year.
And then they said the crust is made from scratch. Hello, how else would they make it. Go to the pie crust tree and pick one. Of course it's made from scratch.

The Taliban
In my previous military life I had some experience with the Afghan Freedom Fighters. They were fighting the Soviet Union in the 1980s and we were helping them.
They were brave warriors. Worthy of the great United States assistance!
Now they are renamed the Taliban by the USA and are terrorists. These are the very same people that we supported a few years ago.
Give them a new name and they're all criminals.
Is it any wonder that people around the world think our policies are hypocritical?

Mental Health
It seems that after I fly with someone I have a comment about something they said.
This is no exception. My first officer thought there was no purpose or use for the mental health profession. I guess they are in the Tom Cruise camp.
One must have had a very bad experience with a counselor or psychologist to have such a strong opinion about it.
Of course the first officer was a right wing nut who thought that George W. hung the moon. And also a very religious person. There seems to be a bias from Christians against therapy and receiving mental health assistance. I wonder why that is?
Maybe it is from the idea that God and Jesus can fix everything instantly. Especially mental health problems.
While I believe that Jesus is the answer, I also believe in medical doctors and by the same token mental health care givers.

My Neighbors
The neighbors across the street are really weird.
They built a new house. And they've been in it for about 6 months or so.
Everyday, without fail, there are workers there doing something. Usually landscaping, painters, whatever. Everyday. Who can afford to have stuff done everyday, all day long?
And who would want workers in and out of your house everyday, all day?
What is going on over there?
I still haven't met them yet. I know the neighbors on my side of the street but for some reason I can't get to know the people on the other side of the street.
I actually don't think the people on either side of me really want to know who I am it's just that being on my side they think they have no choice. Do you think they know I have binoculars?
Is that wrong?
I need to go over and meet those people. At least to see what the h#ll is going on.

I hate puzzles. Especially crossword puzzles. But for some reason I like this puzzle.
A pencil is mandatory. A pen will just make you mad. Usually a pencil makes me mad too. Several times I have ripped the puzzle to little bits and thrown it away and about 5 minutes later I want to work on it again.

The Fun is about to begin
As if we haven't been subjected to enough fun already, its' gonna get crazy soon.
My airline, run by satanic people, who by the way have no clue on how to run a business, have filed with the bankruptcy judge a motion to throw out our labor agreement.
That certainly fosters good will. We've already taken a 32.5% pay cut and now they want another 19.5%. Yippee! And they don't want to pay us for sick leave anymore. That's great, but I am forbidden by law to fly when I'm sick.
The bankruptcy judge is an African American female. I say this because she referred to the pilots in court recently as Boss Men. Which of course is a term from the slave days. A racist judge. Cool. That should work in our favor.
Hopefully the pilots of America will get some backbone and have what they call a SOS. Which stands for a suspension of service. For one day all of the pilots working in the US would refuse to come to work. Maybe that would bring some attention to the crap that is happening and the destruction of our profession.
Everybody who wants to ride an airplane with the Captain and Copilot both from India, speak little English and have almost no training raise your hand. Cause that's where we're headed.
ps: the spell check wanted to replace copilot with the word copulate. OK.
